Mental Focus
There are several different facets to the mental training that is developed at Warrior Training Ground. One of the most critical is attention to detail. Now, there are no uniform inspections or verbal commands to repeat here so what am I getting at? Most people in the fitness industry will tell you that “form” is important. Unfortunately, the vast majority of them have a paper thin idea of what “form” is or what it takes to achieve it. An even larger percent forget to ensure that proper “form” is kept for even a second after they said it was important. From the opening rep to the last, there is no room to have your head somewhere else and not on every inch of the range of every rep, step, flip, or lift. We operate at a challenge level that has no margin for error. Not to diminish the importance of focused awareness during a typical, moderately challenging exercise session, but when you have stepped up to a training tempo that has every movement pushing your abilities and the overwhelming fatigue of an hour of those movements relentlessly strung together, you better keep your eye on the freaking ball. At Warrior Training Ground, we are militant about Exercise Mechanics TM. Serious conditioning and serious injury are often separated by paying attention. So the training tip for the day is to test yourself and see how much mental focus you are putting into HOW and HOW WELL each rep is done. How hard you can train comes later.
