The Training Environment

It is always interesting to me when I get into a conversation that starts with someone asking me, “What is Warrior Training Ground?” Answering the “what” always leads to the “why”. As in, ‘Why is that better than training in a gym like normal people?”  “Why is Warrior Training Ground different than any other “boot camp?”‘  “Why don’t you make it easy for everyone at any fitness level to participate?”  Well, in a word, Environment. After all the physics and physiology have been debated and accounted for, there is a huge factor that can’t be ignored. Trying to get a serious, dirty, sweaty, mean & nasty kind of workout with Lady Ga Ga playing over the house music system and the AC keeping a nice 68° just doesn’t work. When you want to take your workout to a certain level both mentally and physically it really helps to have your surroundings supporting it. There is just a feel to having a group of people that are in the same mindset as you as well as tools and elements, including the instructor, that are all driving the atmosphere. MMA athletes and SWAT teams don’t really want to bring a set of purple dumbbells and a yoga mat to the neighborhood park unless they are going just to spend quality time with their spouses. At the end of the day it really isn’t just about offering something better (although we do). It’s about offering something different. Something focused. Something that sounds and feels like it should. So to answer these questions with a question, what kind of training are you looking for, and does your current environment really fit? Those looking to take another step, a step towards combat ready conditioning, should seek the right environment. Warrior Training Ground is exactly that environment.
